October 23rd not only marks the return of the PSA to the public stage, it marks the return of FEATURES on the PSA stage. October's feature is Cambridge MA's own Jade Sylvan.
Jade feautred with PSA at The Masonic Temple in 2011 and was magnificent. Her new book Kissing Oscar Wild is published by Write Bloody and copies of it along with other merch will be available at the slam. Jade will also be doing a workshop before the slam at 6:00 PM. The cost of the workshop is pay what you can/pass the hat. Do NOT miss this stellar poet or the shining local fauna when PSA rises from the dead once again @ The Odditorium (1045 Haywood in AVL)

Poetry Slam Asheville's adult slam has been dormant since 2012. With the last Grand Slam Championship at the late great Magnetic Field, PSA entombed the Adult Slam in carbonite in order to allow the burgeoning youth slam to have the spotlight and resources for a while. Now that a groundswell of support and volunteers have emerged, we will be disinterring the adult slam from it's dusty coffin and reinstalling it in the halls of The Odditorium•1045 Haywood Rd. Asheville.
The intent of this blog is to detail the happenings of each slam, post winners, losers, pictures and more to provide a little richer experience than the incessant facebook spam you will undoubtedly be seeing from us! Our first event will be Wednesday night, October 23rd at 7 PM. The format will depend on how many poets are in the house. If a slam coalesces, there will be a $50 prize for the winner!! Come see us in our new home!
